Drifting Through October

Contemplate an autumnal hymn

Unjust footfall cracking earth

A soft sure spread of gold

Cyan celestially caressing firm

Emeralds leaning into Indian reds

Shiver apart from maple lime

Shrink between ablaze-bright eddies

Ochre whips up and around

Hunch a hesitant face drawn in

Hold on ever fast to the time

Chill reclines before the restless wind

Teasing sport from silk high ghosts.
